Compact and lowest cost per channel

Expansion module MRL is oriented to increase a number of channels in automated control and data acquisition systems. The module fits to a PLC Matrix and to a module FMR.

MRL is a configurable module that has 14 modifications. They allow choosing such a combination of discrete and analog I/O that will solve a problem in the most suitable way.

The main distinguishing feature of the module MRL is a low price for a channel without sacrificing the high quality of the device. Cost reduction is caused by two characteristics:

  • The module is Compact: 3U. You buy the needed number of channels and do not overpay for the channels you won’t use.
  • The module MRL doesn’t have it's own source of power. The power is supplied by the MTBus in the head unit.

Features

High performance
and easy to use

Despite its compact size and reduced price for a channel, the MRL module has high performance, thanks to a computing core based on a 32-bit Cortex ® controller. In addition, the module operates on the high-speed MTBus, which has a speed 20-30 times higher than most common buses. Thanks to MTBus, the MDL module does not require any settings, all the necessary connection settings are made by itself. The module MRL is simply used because as the module FMR it works on the high speed MTBus and doesn’t need settings.

Reliability
The MRL module is recommended due to its high-tech design:
  • Isolated unipolar digital inputs with pulse counting function.
  • Isolated digital outputs of various types.
  • Overload-resistant analog outputs 0-10V.
  • Configurable, overload-resistant, high-resolution analog inputs with support for voltage, current, and basic temperature sensor types.
Compact and low cost per channe

The small size of the module, 3U, is due to the fact that it does not have it’s own power supply. The MRL module is powered by the head unit: by Matrix PLC or FMR module. A well-designed layout of inputs and outputs allows you to choose the optimal configuration of equipment without overpaying for unnecessary unused channels.


To mark the connectors, use a paper marking insert on the front panel of the device.

Operation

MRL module is configured in software that is used in Matrix and FMR.

Setting

Using the software, you can easily create and configure systems consisting of a Matrix controller or FMR module, supplemented by one or more MRL modules.

A large number of parameters can be set for all devices, such as: types of sensors connected to analog inputs, conversion of thermal resistances to temperature and its correction, modes of operation of digital inputs and filtering parameters, safe states for outputs, and many others.

All settings can be made for each channel individually or for a group of channels.

Debugging

To simplify commissioning, a debugging mode is provided. It allows you to track the values online at the inputs of all modules in the bus and to control the outputs.*


* This function might be used with caution: to use manual control of the system, person needs to know how it works. Otherwise, it can lead to errors and even to system failure.
