High flexibility in organizing the input/output subsystem (I/O)

Universal FMR I/O modules are designed to increase the number of channels in automated control and data acquisition systems. The modules combine with controllers of any manufacturer through the Modbus-RTU protocol with connection to the RS-485 port.

There are 11 modifications of modules that allow you to choose the optimal for your task combination of discrete and analog I/O. Cascading FMR modules to each other greatly increases the overall capacity of the I/O system. In total, up to 341 FMR modules can be assembled into a network, providing up to 10912 channels. *

Scalability

The FMR module contains two RS-485 communication ports. Such organization of ports makes it possible to build systems with a large number of inputs/outputs and the ability to interrogate the system with any external Master device.

The addressing of new channels is absolutely transparent to the control system, does not require additional computing resources. It is carried out by the base FMR module.

Reliability

The module is equipped with a protected power supply with a wide input range of supply voltages, inputs, outputs and communication ports resistant to overload. In the event of emergencies leading to loss of communication between the module and the control controller or modules connected to each other, in order to maintain control over the state of the object, FMR is able to switch to safe operation mode.
Shielded connections provide added protection for network data.

Convenience and simplicity

The front panel of the module is equipped with LEDs informing the user about the operation mode of the inputs / outputs and the status of the module.

The COM1 network address is conveniently set using the five-position DIP switch located under the system compartment cover.
All the settings necessary for the operation of the FMR modules are collected in the FMR-Configurator utility.


A paper marking insert on the front panel of the device is useful for connectors marking.

Operation

The module is configured via the USB port. For configuration the FMR Configurator utility for PC is available for download from our website.

Alignment

By using the configurator you can configure the network connection settings.

For analog inputs you can select the types of analog sensors that will be connected to them. In addition, if necessary, any analog input can be switched to discrete mode of operation.

For each output (DO, AO), the safety status parameters are configured.

All conversions can be performed both for each channel individually or for a dedicated channel group.

Debugging

An important function of the configurator, in addition to setting, is debug mode. The configuration program allows you to debug the operation of the system, module and all devices connected to it via the system bus. This mode is indispensable when you need to check the operation of sensors, actuators at the facility. At the end of debugging, the system configuration can be saved to a file.

Software update of the FMR module is also performed using the configurator.
